Power: 8.5/10 (he actually has a handicap against his allies, being unable to use actual magic, but he is still able to use super spechul abilities)

Influence: 9/10 (Perceived wrongly as a paragon of virtue and gets a lot of attention, not always earned, but he also gets outshined by worse Stus... somethimes.)

Vileness: 7/10 (He is horrid at being a hero, but his heart is in the right place. Anti-hero at best, though he is supposed to be a paragon of virtue.)

Lightning Dawn, the main hero of Starfleet. He is... deep breath... a Space Anthropomorphic Unicorn Nazi Admiral! Yeah, you see one of these words and wonder how he can be a hero.

This guy is a complete jerk. He basically finishes off monsters weakened by his allies and takes all the credit. He also can push away those who could be his friends and say he can do everything by himself, while he excuses everything the abusive Grand Ruler does... pure good of heart alright. He is arrogant and charges head first into fights, mostly using brute force. If he can't beat someone, the pussy doesn't even try to stand up to them. Before he gains confidence (and bravo for actually developing a little) he COWERED IN THE MIDDLE OF A FIGHT BECAUSE HE HAD NO POWERS. Chicken!

He mostly helps other races not because it's right, but because his race is superior and it's the White Man's burden to help them find enlightenment. Ugh, I want to puke. Also, this arrogance and scorn of friends? If he meets a cocky woman who pushes away her friends and gets power handed to her like himself, he will hate her and see her as a cocky bitch, because she is a wahman and has to learn her place. Then again, if a woman tries to be feminine, he will still hate her. Or just a heroine, threatening to outshine him. He often belittles female heroes, but not always.

When a human version of his girlfriend was denied a role in a school play, Lightning went to the principal, mocked the death of her pet, beat her up and threw hot coffee at her. I have seen criminals less petty than this. He also makes a lot of things about himself, and used his own tragedy, that he lost his parents, to justify not giving a shit about someone else's suffering and torture. Because if you are sad, you try to make everyone else as miserable as you.

His main weapon is the Rainbow Rod. Because his blind obedience to his male master and the way he views women weren't suggestive enough. He could use it as a melee weapon, but nope, punch, punch, kick, and the rod is just for beams until he can muster his inner strength, which comes from hate, but mostly from belief in himself. There is nothing wrong with believing in yourself, but it can't undermine friendship, which he looks down on. And believing in your friends is friendship, keep loopholes elsewhere.

Which allows Lightning to show his ultimate skill. The cheesily-named and always announced UNIFORCE! Which releases an extremely powerful beam of energy, capable of defeating powerful creatures, but leaves the user exhausted afterwards. Risky, because if it hits, you win, if you miss, you lose. Something that removes Stu points is that all his abilities have significant limitations and he ends up a bit like Deku in fighting style, as he struggles to control his great power and actually has to earn the way to control it. And his physical strength? Training. Already we found something that makes him more bearable!

Plus, he is not smart, and rushes head first into fights. For most Stus, no consequences. Lightning gets beat up a lot before he wins, some victories are by the skin of his teeth. He is a moron, but still, that makes him less of a Stu. Already he is more likable than Harrymort or Sterk for that.

One of his worst moments is when he waits orders to go save his girlfriend. He cares more about obeying Grand Ruler than to save his fucking girlfriend. While this is one of his worst actions, it also shows what's to blame for his attitude. Grand Ruler groomed him since a young age, acting as a father figure, for him to become the ideal soldier, warrior, hero of Starfleet and protect the lesser races. He genuinely believes he does the right thing, while he basically follows the orders of the tyrannical Grand Ruler.

In other words, he is a victim of manipulation.

He also is willing to protect those close to him when not hindered by stupid orders, and rushes into action thinking of the civilians. Also, when one of his allies acts actually heroic and tries to stop an assassin, Lightning tries to separate them, not help his ally, because of Grand Ruler's orders. He mourns his friend when she dies, and rightfully blames himself. However, the Ruler blames the victim instead.

Lightning also prefers to fight actual monsters and villains. And when he is not enough, Grand Ruler steals the spotlight from him, sometimes making him feel useless.

Is he a paragon of virtue, like he is supposed to be? NO. Is he irredeemable, like some other Sues? No. He has some redeeming traits, and his worst ones can be blamed on another character.

Overall, not the worst Stu I have seen; but still a Stu.
