Spitefic: Zant vs Darkness the Hedgehog

pan2000After a hard battle against Starfleet, Zant started looking for allies, other monsters to join him and his god in ruling the Multiverse through the Darkness.
In his way, he stumbled into a realm of wizards, one where a blue hedgehog had a lot of powers handed to him and wanted to win the heart of many human girls.
Lord Zant had done a lot of things. Terrible things. He turned the rightful heir to the throne he ursuped into a relatively weak imp. He turned most of his own people into bloodlusted beasts that serve him and their own hunger. He killed a queen that refused to bow down to him and froze her aquatic country. He conquered a whole planet and put its queen's head on a pike simply because she wasn't intelligent.
However, attempting to create a harem of girls of other species was unacceptable to him. So, he decided to see what his enemies looked like. He heard that one of them, Darkness, was as powerful as that version of the hedgehog, and ruthless enough to enjoy violence for the thrill of it.
"Maybe he would be a good servant for the Great One" Zant comments.
And he saw him choking that blue hedgehog. He and his forces were surrounded by wizards, who seemed to be friends of the alleged hero, yet did nothing to save him, even though Darkness threatened to bring the fight to them.
Zant started having doubts about his new ally. The name alone wasn't intimidating at all, in fact it sounded to Zant as if someone was either trying too hard to be cool and edgy or a masochist.
His doubts turned into anger when Darkness released his foe.
"Why didn't you kill him?" a minion asked.
"It wouldn't be fun if I just killed him." Darkness replied.
And that was when something inside Zant snapped.
Zant's POV
Is that idiot trying to lose? What do you mean "it wouldn't be fun"? Yes, you can break psychologically someone and then spare him for extra cruelty, but kill their friends, you foolishly foolish fool!
This guy pretends to be a great Dark Lord, yet he has a cliché name, makes such fatal mistakes and for no reason at all. He is just asking for defeat!
I won't ask him to join the Legion... such stupidity must get punished by death! And he doesn't even deserve to see my master... I will do it all by myself.
Third Person POV
Zant teleports inside a dark castle. It was easy to spot the base of Darkness, he was such a stereotypical, obvious follower of the Dark.
He overhears Darkness talking to his minions.
"HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA! I believe we gave Sonic and those weak wizards our message. We showed them who is the strongest of all." Darkness is gloating.
Rage, a minion, interrupts him. "Master? I think you should have finished your archenemy off. Then you could take over this pathetic world very easily."
Darkness chuckles. "Yes, but it would not be so amusing. No, better make him live with his failure."
Claw, another minion, interrupts. "But he will grow stronger and might stand a chance against you, my lord."
Darkness glares at him. "Silence! All it matters is that I sent them all the message I needed."
"Darkness, I think you should listen to your men. They are smarter than you will ever be."
The evil hedgehog turns at the voice. "Who dares disrespect me like that? Show yourself!"
And from the front door, Zant emerges. "My name is Zant. And I respect only one, true Dark Lord. One so powerful, that he could crush a wannabe like you with a single look. I got your message, Darkness. And saw someone who had a chance to win and blew it for no reason. Only a fool does that.
You could spare Sonic to break his spirit. But only if you killed his friends first and made him live with his failure. You did not. You did nothing but best him in a fight and shout weak threats you never followed through.
You are all talk and show very little. And your name? I have heard more intimidating ones. Try Souleater. Deathspike. Immortus. Anything other than the most obvious, lazy name for someone who wants to be edgy."
Darkness is growling in anger. "My name is still more intimidating than 'Zant'. And don't provoke me, puny wizard. I am stronger than every wizard in existence. I am planning to spread darkness everywhere..."
"Here we share the same goal." Zant interrupts, then lets him continue.
"And then I want to destroy everyone and enslave everybody." Darkness continues.
Zant's yellow eyes bulge. "MORON! How can you enslave everyone if you have destroyed them? These two are mutually exclusive! Do you have anything to gain except being very evil? Anything at all? You will rule nothing if you destroy everything. And if you want to kill your archenemy as your primary goal, I saw you throwing a perfect chance away!
The Dark One would execute someone with your incompetence! But since he is not here, I will do it myself!"
Darkness laughs. "Oh really? Nobody can beat me! Just to satisfy your ego, I will allow you one free hit."
The Ursuper King calmly charges his biggest Shadow Ball, which is the size of a human, and fires it at the hedgehog. Darkness smirks as he knows such an attack won't damage him... and when it connects, it sends him flying through his throne and the wall behind it.
The dark hedgehog vomits blood, then struggles to get up. "Kill him."
Darkness' army charges at Zant, who draws his scimitars.
Rage attacks with his horn, but Zant starts spinning like a tornado, and the rhino fails to stop before connecting with the whirlwind of death. He gets mortally injured, while Claw attempts to punch Zant when he stops spinning. He makes him flinch for a moment, but Zant teleports behind him and stabs him through the spine.
Tabo attacks with his talons, but Zant backflips and destroys a column with his Shadow Bullets, then uses his telekinesis to bring it on top of him. Finally, Vipy attempts to bite him, but is knocked out by a scimitar slash to the mouth.
The leader uses his telekinesis to send debris at the Dark One's High General, who spins like a whirwind again and destroys all the projectiles. Then he counters a dark beam with one of his own, but Darkness lands a Homing Attack on him and makes him flinch.
"I don't need weak wizards like you, Zant" the mad hedgehog gloats. "I will plunge the world into darkness alone. Nobody tells me what to do!" And he fires his most powerful beam of shadow at Zant, leaving nothing in his path. The blue-skinned wizard doesn't even scream.
"Ha ha ha... it was fun, but ended quickly. Perhaps I should have given him more chances. Maybe even let him live to fight another day."
Due to his attempts to be edgy, his castle is almost fully dark. If it wasn't, and he was even a bit careful, he would see a giant shadow that wasn't his coming from behind him.
And suddenly, a big foot steps on him thrice. Zant shrinks to his normal size, holding his foot in pain because of the spikes, but the stomps still did severe damage to his enemy.
Zant then vanishes and emerges behind Darkness, who punches him so hard the wizard evaporates. Then a scimitar emerges from behind through the hedgehog's cold heart.
"A weak mind makes a weak person. This is my own message." Zant taunts as his foe falls lifeless.
Then he continues looking for other potential allies. Maybe someone with an original name, who would show instead of tell him his competence and wouldn't spare his foes for fun.
