Few people know this, but recently I found and LOVED Ace Attorney. The characters are so colorful, the plots are nice and the games make being a lawyer interesting. Plus, I love the graphics.
Who would the leads be in my New Timeline?
Phoenix Wright: Finn
He is even called "Feenie" at some points! Phoenix is the main character and strives to do what's right. Even if it means accusing the prosecution, presenting phony evidence, or even losing a trial. Finn, similarly, will use even violence to defend the innocent, even disobeying orders.
Maya Fey: Leah Clearwater
Coming from a troubled family, Maya is no lawyer, however she does have superpowers Phoenix doesn't have. She often feels she isn't strong enough, especially since her family is in turmoil and some relatives want her dead, but it's not the case. She also saved Phoenix and needed saving at different times.
Miles Edgeworth: Rey
He had good parents, but Miles had a horrible upbringing due to a father figure who was a tyrant. Even though he did some bad things under manipulation, he more than made up for it in ruthless ways after he got redeemed. He has extremely good character development. Rey had a tyrannical grandfather, lived in the desert, and due to an imprint she also became a dick, but redeemed herself afterwards.
Manfred von Karma: Palpatine
Oh yes. Manfred was obsessed with being the best, and would do anything to stay that way, including murder. A great manipulator who can plan far ahead of his foes, he is also very paranoid. While he is more brains than brawn due to the nature of the series, he still can defend himself and electrocute those who came close to defy him. His only weakness is that sometimes he defies common sense to be extra cruel, and that was his downfall. And he stays a threat even dead with his legacy. Palpatine, as a posthumous character in my fics, is the exact same way.
Mia Fey: Master Toni
Mia is Phoenix's mentor, and in the first cases the one to save him from tight spots. She is also popular with the other gender, extremely competent, and... dies first of the main cast. Master Toni is the exact same way, down to dying first. Also, both manage to bring the downfall of their killers after their deaths due to their teachings.
Redd White: Benjamin
Their role: Kill the mentor, be a nasty wake up call, put the hero in a tight spot, be very powerful, go down like punks because of something the mentor did.
Will Powers: Poe Dameron
He is known well for his heroic role as Steel Samurai, and inspires kids to be heroes themselves. Notable for having people scorn him, while he did nothing wrong, and being a star and a badass.
Adrian Andrews: Virago
Originally a side character, most notable for being a survivor who thinks she is weak but really, really isn't. She even helps take down abusers.
Dahlia Hawthorne: Ganondorf Dragmire
Replace "cute face" with "imprints that look like true love but aren't" and "temptation that looks seductive but is not" and there go the differences. Dahlia looks so sweet and innocent but is an irredeemable monster who can manipulate people, starts with thievery but has a big, big bodycount, causes trouble even to mentor characters and in the end she becomes a spirit, a force of nature. So is the Dark One. And there is, of course, "Charles of Moria"...
