I played Crash 1 and beat it. It was hard, but I did it. (No 100%, the original is not for 100%)

Getting to the bosses was harder than the bosses themselves. Let's see them in action.

6. Papu Papu

The very first boss in a game where the difficulty is in the levels. He is a tribe chief who has a club. Which he swings. You have to jump on his head three times and there is a safespot on his throne. If you are a bit patient due to his invincibility frames, he will fall down very, very easily.

5. Koala Kong

The flexing, muscular koala is no joke on paper. You have to avoid his rocks and TNT, and spin the big boulders back at him before they sink into the lava and make sure you don't hit the minecarts instead. This, four times. In practice, this is not hard to do if you have good timing and never stop moving.

4. Pinstripe Potoroo

The mafioso who works for Cortex, he brings a machine gun to your bare hands and he fires it like crazy. He has many hitpoints and is vulnerable to spinning when he goes to change position or when he is reloading. It's all about timing and patience again, but also speed, as you have to take cover to not get shot and then run fast out of it, while also predicting his position, to hit him before he starts firing again. However, you can on paper stand still for ten minutes, on cover, and he will never hit you.

3. Dr. Neo Cortex

Funnily enough, I died once to Pinstripe but never to Cortex. So, why is the final boss higher?

In both Pistripe and Papu Papu, you can go for a tea and then land an easy hit when you return, safely. Cortex is Koala Kong, but a little harder. He fires regular purple bolts, blue bolts which go in erratic patterns across the screen and are the major threat and green bolts that can and must be spun back. The green ones have to stack up sometimes to do actual damage, and they will not wait at all unlike Koala Kong's boulders. The blue bolts alone are the challenge.

2. Dr. Nitrus Brio

Only two bosses killed me more than once, aka are actually hard. Brio is one of them. No wonder he couldn't take Cortex pretending he is greater than him! He has two phases. One is him sending blobs you have to jump on and damage him this way, and exploding potions you have to avoid. This is far easier said than done, as he has probably trained his aiming and his blobs are not easy foes. Second phase and he turns into Hulk. Climb on the debris he makes and jump on his head. That part is intimidating but easy.

1. Ripper Roo

This maniac is only the second boss, can be cheesed in a kamikaze way and has a fixed pattern. Then why is he the only boss that got me stuck for half an hour? He is invincible by himself. You have to blow up special TNT crates that will also destroy you if you are close and make sure he doesn't jump on you. Very hard to hit, easy to hit you, the safespots change per phase, you can die at the same time and it counts as a loss. That was my last two defeats before my proper victory. Fortunately, in Crash 2, he is a wimp and you can take sweet revenge.
