Try to always avoid these seven things as a writer.

1. Plot holes. Canon needs consistency, or people will be confused and the immersion breaks.
2. Bad grammar. In small doses, it's ok, but if people struggle to understand the words, it can ruin your story.
3. Hypocrisy. Portraying something sometimes in a positive light and other times in negative, depending if the person who does it agrees with you, is not a sign of a good person.
4. Protagonist-centered morality. Good actions make good guys. Bad actions make bad guys. If you are a good guy, your actions won't be good by default.
5. Rape and abuse romanticising, as well as pedophilia. If you do this one, you are an asshole.
6. Insulting constructive critics. They are as valuable as fans because people who take criticism improve.
7. Telling things instead of showing. What, don't you believe you can write well?
