Feel free to disagree, but these are my top 5 favorite fights in the Dimensional War. (Note: TROS did not happen there.)
5. Finn vs Zeroes and then Kreia Ren. This barely made it, the runner-ups will have honorable mentions. Finn first fought Zeroes. Despite the big gap in the former's favor, he struggled because he had no intention to kill him, but open his eyes. When Zeroes was starting considering it, Kreia stabbed him in the back and fought Finn. The two traded blows in a balanced fight. Kreia was giving her all, having the man on the ropes, while taunting him. When Finn eventually got Fierce, he managed to kill her... but it was what she wanted, as she wanted him to turn Fierce and stop Ganondorf.
4. Finn vs Ganondorf, Round 2. After the Prince of Darkness had an unbeatable record, killing Luke Skywalker and Face of Destiny, he defeated Rey and had him at his mercy. Finn intervened and refused an offer he couldn't refuse. He initiated a fight with the demigod, knowing he had hardly a chance. It was an one-sided beating until Finn became Fierce, catching his enemy off-guard. The beating was then reversed and Ganondorf barely escaped with his life. Was the first chapter I ever wrote and has a lot of emotional value to me.
3. Rey and Finn vs Malacoda. This one is barely above the fourth, but maybe the purest Finnrey moment I have ever written. Fighting against a demonic version of Kylo Ren, Rey lost and got brainwashed. She was forced to fight Finn, who for once struggled not to get Fierce because it would be detrimental. He barely defended himself and was almost defeated, but he managed to free Rey by kissing her in the lips and then striking Malacoda's eyes. Malacoda, even with his eyes struck, managed to fight back. But when facing Finn and Rey simultaneously, he was no match for them and fell in two hits before getting choked by his own tail, the sign of what he had become.
2. Rey (and Anakin) vs Kylo, final fight in Dimensional Chaos. I call this "the small finals" because it was the actual final fight of the first story. Both warriors, a fully trained Rey and a massively buffed Kylo, fought using every resource at their disposal. Anakin himself intervened to save Kylo, but failed. At one point, Kylo even used his ship and mirrored the way he killed Leia, but Rey returned his attack. And when he feigned being good and stabbed them both, Rey unleashed all of her anger, bringing the monster down.
Honorable mentions: Poe Dameron vs Grand Admiral Thrawn, Commander Saber vs Thrawn, Luke Skywalker vs Knights of Ren, Finn vs Cyberdemon.
1. Finn (and Resistance) vs Ganondorf (and his bodyguards), the final battle. Originally, Finn's Inferno would advance from Chapter 3 to just this. I am planning to make this rewrite soon, in case anyone is tired of the intermediate arcs.
On to the battle itself. Finn is Fierce for the entire fight, but finally finds his match as Ganondorf turns into a new Red Demon form and trades equal blows with him... at least initially. When Finn gets the upper hand, Ganondorf is completely pushed off the edge, something that started when the Resistance entered Cocytus. He starts fighting with everything he's got, giving Finn the hardest beating of his life and knocking him out with a stab in the back. This causes everyone in the Resistance to fight to protect him, while Ganondorf's bodyguards assist their Master. With teamwork, heroes like Pan, Link and the Doom Slayer weaken the Dark Lord, but he seems nearly unstoppable... and when he attacks Finn, Rey jumps, pregnant, in front and her children get killed.
This pisses off Finn, who has recovered, and starts attacking the injured Demon King. What follows can't be really given justice with words, and ends in Finn sacrificing himself to destroy Ganondorf and end the war for good.
