The East New World is an underrated gem of a game for phone, for free. It has beautiful graphics, music that starts meh and becomes awesome and difficulty that starts easy and ends making you want to pull your hair.

And it's also a game where the hardest part, apart from some cheap traps in the last world, is the bosses. Let's rank their difficulty.

8. Ancient Mummy

All bosses are various forms of difficult. Except this guy. The Ancient Mummy is a joke. He is also the first boss, so he is excused. He has some attacks that look hard to avoid. However, there are two columns in the edges of the arena, where none of the enemy spells can hit you. Ever. On the other hand, YOU can land several free hits on this boss while on top of the columns. So, the boss is easy if you know what to do.

7. Colossus Crab

The third boss is easier than the second because the bosses in odd numbers are minor bosses and in odd major. This crab has a homing frost bubble. If it hits, it slows you down. Its charge is also hard to avoid if you get close and it gets more aggressive in its basic claw swipe if you drop its health in half. However, the bubble can pop harmlessly by an attack, you can hit the boss five times with the Boomerang Blade in one throw, and all the attacks are easily telegraphed. Needs some practice, but can easily be beaten.

6. Anubis

The first major boss, he is a menace to rookies. He can rain coffins on your head, summon weak mummies and shoot fireballs. The fireballs are hard to avoid, as are the coffins... which at least are telegraphed through a line. However, Anubis has moderate health and is the only boss that doesn't get a second phase, and his attacks always follow the same pattern. Memorization is the key to trivialize him.

5. Lava Giant

The fifth boss is a force to be reckoned with. He is fast and has two very distinct phases, being one of the only two bosses to replenish their lifebar for a second phase. In the first one he summons rocks on the air, which can hurt you. Immediately strike the red rock, otherwise they will combine into a very annoying boulder that moves around and makes the battle much harder. If two boulders are already there, the giant will just throw the rocks straight at you, being the first boss to fire with both speed and accuracy. However, the first phase is easy if you don't let him make even one boulder, as he stands still asking for a sword to the face. The second phase is much worse, as he becomes a huge rock snake that burrows underground, chases you everywhere and has only the head as a weak point. The key in this fight is speed and to be aggressive.

4. Giant Piranha

Not the hardest boss, but definitely the worst and most annoying of all. It can bite you, and, if in half health, its bite can make you bleed and lose more health (but bleeding won't kill you), fire a barrage of its scales, spit bubbles (homing that stuns if healthy, many non-homing that damage if injured) and fire laser beams from its mouth. Which are damaging, but only a threat when they move, and they move only when the piranha is under half health. The battle is underwater, so Flow Stone is recommended... and you are still a bit slower than usual, which is bad news. However, while it's hard because of the water inhibiting you, it can be cheesed by standing on a spot where it won't bite you and you can hit it. Much harder than with the Ancient Mummy, where standing on columns ALWAYS works, and if you mash attack when it attacks with its scales, you will land many hits and destroy its shots too. Still a pain.

3. Succubus

The Mirror Labyrinth is one of the hardest gaming worlds I have ever played. The succubus is a prime example of the difficulty spike you will face. Her attacks are RNG and she will definitely do it with your first attempts to reach the final boss. She kisses you hearts that burn your mana, and if out of mana she just deals the smallest damage in the game... but the hearts are a pain to avoid. She can also charge with her trident for a stab that is very damaging and creates pink dust. Beware the pink dust, it reverses your controls. Her third attack is ice that doesn't freeze you or inflict any effects. Not that it matters, because it's very hard to avoid and will kill you really, really fast.

She is on the ground in the first phase, however she flies, forcing you to jump for the second one. In the second phase, the hearts become much, much harder to avoid and she can cast two icicles at once. If she does, you need a lot of skill to survive. In the third phase, the succubus creates four clones of herself which also attack with hearts and pink dust, and take three hits each to be beaten. The real one is always in the middle and you have to destroy the clones. If she absorbs any surviving ones, she heals herself.

However, lifesteal can trivialize the boss, as you can keep hitting her and tanking her hearts, you will get more life than she takes if you trade blows that way... just know you will still lose if icicles reach you. Also, she can get free hits when changing phases. Land them.

2. Fire Dragon

This guy stands still in one place. However, he is the penultimate major boss for a reason. While he is technically very easy to hit, his battlefield is an obstacle course, one of the two with actual hazards. The dragon always starts with a lava beam from his mouth. It chases you across the screen and requires you to travel through hazards across the battlefield. If it hits, it kills you in a single hit, which coupled with the range and the duration means this boss has the single strongest attack of the game. He also makes fireballs rain on the battlefield from the sky, from one point when he has high health, from two when it gets below 50%, creates geysers of fire below your feet, chasing you, and aims fireballs straight at you.

In the second phase, apart from the second rain of fireballs, he might repeat the beam of obliteration, and you best start running the fuck away when he does. However, he does not restore his health and isn't moblie at all, so you can probably hit him fast enough to kill him before he unleashes this attack again.

1. Corrupted Knight

The difficulty of this game increases progressively and in a fast rate. And the final boss is worthy of being called an ultimate challenge. First, he fights you on foot with his lance. He has melee attacks and is way, way too fast for you to land a single hit on. He can also jump almost as high as your triple jump. Icicles fall from the sky and can freeze both of you. If one hits you, apart from the damage, you get as slow as against the Colossus Crab, only against a faster, more ruthless boss. If they hit him, and you can use your sword to send them at him, he gets stunned, time to slash away. He takes a lot of hits before going to his next phase.

Then you have to fight his horse. It's an easy phase because you can just avoid the horse's charges and the thrown lances of the boss and slash the horse, which is incredibly fragile. And then the healthbar refills, making the only boss with three forms and two FULL lifebars. He fights you on the horse and can throw bolts of ice that are fast and precise, an entire barrage of them that's very hard to avoid, charge with his horse and lance to melee you and his special attack even has a message. He calls lightning from the sky that chases you, basically a harder version of Anubis' coffins. Also the best time to hit him, when his lance isn't glowing at least. Or else he will also shoot you while the thunderbolts are still raining.

Many of his attacks are actually like those of previous bosses, but much harder. The charge of the giant piranha, the freezing of the crab, the attacks from the sky from Anubis, the attacks coming at you but not from the target from the dragon, the insanely hard to avoid barrage from the succubus, the high jump to the platforms you must use from the mummy (except here it's not the only attack that's a threat) and the fact that he refills his lifebar like the Lava Giant. And he is still the only true puzzle boss in the first phase.

Overall, he is brutal, with the only remotely easy thing about him being that at least his horse alone falls quickly. Worthy of being a final boss, he is going to drink the tears of careless players.
