Ah, Manfred, Matt and Dahlia. All competent manipulators and rotten to the core, these are the Big Bads of the original trilogy (and Gant, who is irrelevant to this post possibly).

Manfred cheated for 40 years and had a perfect record for that. Got away with a very petty murder until he tried to frame the victim's son. Got exposed, arrested and his record broke.

Matt drove a woman to suicide and successfully had his rival killed. Almost gets an aquittal due to his good facade and his even better assassin, but he just had to make a video for blackmail of the assassin. This spells his defeat.

Dahlia successfully stole a diamond and got away with her first murder, as well as driving a man to suicide. But she had to find more victims, which resulted in her finally getting caught and hanged, and a failed revenge attempt from beyond the grave.

So, what was the mistake all three made?

They didn't know when to stop being evil and screwing over others.

What's the lesson from this? Even if you aren't stupid otherwise, don't engage in pointless cruelty: karma can be a bitch.
