My story is done! It reveals Rey's ultimate choice, puts the Nutty Poet back in action and could be the conclusion unless anyone wants a sequel.

It also reveals the Dark One's identity, but I revealed it in the Partially Kissed Hero spitefics. Those who know me from Das_Sporking know the Dark One is Ganondorf.

Of course, I hinted at it multiple times, so read this if it feels like an asspull. But there WERE other possible candidates.

Hint: Boar News/ Blue Boar emblem / The three eyes

Zelda fans would suspect it the moment they heard the word "Boar". For those who don't know, a big blue humanoid boar is Ganondorf's super mode, Ganon. The same boar is the symbol of the Black Legion and Alastor's propaganda has it referenced in name. Also, his cloud form has seemingly three eyes. The one in the forehead is actually a gem.

Other possible candidate: Emperor Palpatine

Palpatine really wants to be the Dark One. He is a threat to the Dark One. He is the second biggest Dark Lord. But he is not the true Dark One. Early on, the Dark One is revealed to be Palpatine's enemy, but that did not exclude the cunning Emperor. Because Palpatine has weaponized his own death more than once, and also has created a fake enemy in the Clone Wars, effectively controlling both sides and making sure he always wins. He also managed to use the Dark One's Force Dyad in his favor. Palpatine is not the Dark One, but I admit it would still make a lot of sense. He is still a threat in my fics though, nearly corrupting Rey just like the Dark One.

Hint: Ganondorf's mention as a fairy tale

The tale of Ganondorf Dragmire the Powerful is referenced twice, once before the chapter of the reveal. It's given the same focus as Virago's Finn cardboard, which saves Finn's life later. Poe refers to him as "the leader he never wants to become", while Leah was scared of him as a child. The Volturi insisted it was just a fairy tale and killed everyone who disagreed. Seemingly because it insulted their theory that they were the supreme monsters (and the Cullens bought it for that reason), but also because they wanted to hide their true master.

Other possible candidate: Grand Ruler Celesto

Celesto is the leader of Starfleet and a tyrant. He covers up anything that harms his image, similar to how the Black Legion censors history. He also groomed Lightning to believe he is always right, push away his friends and trust the wrong people. He likes to reward incels and condones their attitude, and the imprints could do just that. Finally, he hates friendship a lot. Who says he couldn't have manipulated Rey too, since he has done that with Lightning?

Hint: Minions

Ganondorf's forces in my stories aren't limited to the canon ones. However, they are heavily included. From mooks: Moblins, Stalfos, Lizalfos, Aeralfos, Bulblins. And those who aren't from HIS canon could serve him, like the Stygians, the vampires and the Imps. From big guys? Gohma. And there is, of course, High General Zant. Zant's presence was my least subtle hint about the true Big Bad.

Other possible candidate: Kylo Ren

Kylo might be an overblown bully, but is also a very good manipulator. He opposes Palpatine as a threat to his power. He could have made the Dyad to make Rey forget her friends and love him, and is from a powerful family, having been gifted with a lot of strength. Plus, Zant and him could get along, and Kylo only got redeemed after getting exactly what he wanted and more. He could have faked his redemption. But no, as it turns out, it was genuine.

Hint: Theocracy

Ganondorf in his canon does use the same methods he uses here. Namely, he enforces hate and malice in pragmatic doses, he hides behind minions who act as his figureheads and also get jobs done, and finally he is treated as a god by his subjects, fitting his ego.

Other possible candidate: Dio Brando

Dio is the main villain from Jojo, and think of Ganondorf if he could stop time, was a bit weaker but included sexual activities to his deparvity. He is first mentioned when Leah watches Stardust Crusaders, and Armilla is actually a fangirl of his. She is also loyal to the Dark One. It's not just her. A lot of minions are cocky vampires, zombies or mercs, some with powers and some not.

Hint: Charles of Moria

This is an obscure one. In a Nintendo Adenture Book, Charles of Moria is intially a protagonist, suspicious. Intitially, you think he is an anti-hero. Then, a new villain. Kono Ganon da! So, of course, Ganondorf's heroic alter-ego is the hero in his own propaganda show.

Other possible candidate: There is no Dark One

I have even thought of that. The Dark One did not exist, it was simply a scapegoat for Zant, Palpatine and Rey to excuse their actions or to manipulate others. A psychological trick to shift blame for their actions.

Notes: I know two of these options are just as good, maybe better, than what I did. But, honestly? Palpatine would be a bit obvious (and I believe two Dark Lords with opposing goals would make a better story), and if the Dark One did not exist, it would be disappointing for some people. I am writing this in case anyone says this was an asspull.

I hope you liked the Old Timeline and Ganondorf in the past, and I hope I can write him better now.
