All actual saber duels I wrote with Finn, in chronological order

Even though I had Finn duel many powerful foes, hardly any were true saber duels. In fact, I had him clash sabers with only three foes...

1. The Loyalist, Round 1

Until the Japan arc, nobody Finn faced was prepared for a Force user, except the slightly paranoid Armilla, who still used other tactics and no lightsaber. Then the Loyalist was sent by Renesmee to take Finn's head. Finn held his own due to Toni's training, but the Loyalist was very strong, fast and even smart. During the duel, Finn destroys the Loyalist's helmet and reveals he is his old friend turned enemy, Nines. But he still didn't win, and both would have died if the Nutty Poet didn't intervene, allowing Finn to escape.

2. Mori Ranmaru

Probably the toughest duel Finn had in my story. Ranmaru was out of Finn's league, and one of the Stormwolf warriors had to die to somewhat weaken the Master of Fire. Finn did everything he could, kept getting down, kept getting up. Each time, a little more damage. Q almost saved Finn by talking, but Ranmaru saw through it and cut off his hand. Finn fought Ranmaru again, and with a little help from Kit Fisto severed Ranmaru's right hand. Ranmaru simply offed himself as a response.

3. The Loyalist, Final Round

After Finn became a true Jedi, he was all but unstoppable until he reached the Boar News Tower and its top floors. Nines was his second personal challenge after the Gohma. This time, he is even tougher than before, even without his newfound Hellfire abilities, which were Finn's first taste of such magic. Like the other two times the two fought, Nines got very close to victory. Unlike the other two times, nobody saved Finn, as he saved himself and allowed the Loyalist's soul to rest in peace.

4. Kylo's Shadow

Zant's Shadows were the last obstacles before Al Astor and his bodyguards. While Leah fought Jacob and gave him what he deserved, Finn had a similar rematch with Kylo. This is the rematch we should have and never had in TROS (no thanks to Rey). But since Finn was far from Rey at that moment, nobody could stop this. Even though Finn shows how much he had grown since Starkiller, Kylo Ren was still a deadly foe and could stop multiple blaster bolts at once. However, the shadow no longer fought a runaway Stormtrooper who just wanted to defend his loved ones, but a trained Jedi. Even as it was Kylo's evil embodied in perfect condition, Finn came out on top and destroyed him for good.
