Spitefic: Male Against Female
While Succiu was getting the Kudos treatment, Wigg the Allegedly Wise gets a visit from Rey, Leah and Alix.
The Wizards guarding him try to stop them. However, Alix explains their intentions.
"We are here to warn your master about a great evil" she tells them.
"We knew the Sorceresses would come back. But we have taken our measures. We made sure nobody used the Vagaries anymore. From when they are kids, those who have endowed blood..."
Leah can't resist snickering.
Rey merely rolls her eyes.
"... anyway" the wizard continues "we bind the children with spells, so if they ever use the Vagaries, they will die before they can be corrupted, saving themselves permanently."
Rey reads Leah's mind immediately, then Alix's. Then she sends them a telepathic message.
Oh right, diplomacy. Shame, I want to hit him.
"I think the children should have the right to choose, and that nobody has any right to force anyone to a so-called destiny" Alix replies.
"Besides, the arts themselves are not evil. You can use dark arts for good. I know people who have used supposedly evil magic to help others or kill those who deserve it. Or mind control people to avoid pointless violence" Rey adds.
Leah has one last thing to add. "And I would love to ask something. How is putting to kids the equivalent of a magical explosive collar NOT a "Vagary"? That sounds like a pretty evil spell with a foul use."
The wizard stares at them, wide-eyed.
"So, as we were saying" Leah tells him "there is a great evil coming for you. I don't know who those Sorceresses and their coven are, but I know this whole world is in danger if we don't do something."
"Very well. I will take you to Grand Wizard Wigg."
Soon the women are taken in, and Wigg greets them.
"Welcome, strangers. I heard you are here to help us repel a new threat. Are you of endowed blood? Can you help in combat?" Wigg asks.
"Well, Rey can help, but she certainly isn't endowed" Leah replies.
Faster than the human eye can see, Rey draws her blaster and shoots Leah in the leg.
"Ow! You fucking shot me!"
"Well, you have been a bad girl. No treat today."
Wigg rolls his eyes. "And then this species acts like it's equal to men."
Alix snorts at what Wigg said. "Anyway, we are here to warn you about a very powerful new threat."
Wigg chuckles. "Oh, if the Sorceresses are back, we are prepared. We give death oaths so nobody can use their wicked arts. And we also banned women from practicing magic.
I trust you three didn't make any mistake and learned magic. After what the Sorceresses have done, I cannot trust any woman with any ability!"
Rey glares at him. "What the fuck, Wigg? Just because a few women were evil, you decided to keep all of them weak, despite already having other means of suppressing dark magic? This is not just unnecessary, this is way worse than useless!"
"Do you know what the Sorceresses have done? They raped, created camps for undesirables, killed, tortured and raped. They had their minions train to death! After what those women did, why would I let any other woman take power in her hands?" Wigg asks.
Leah facepalms. "That was a pretty weak argument, Wigg. So, those Sorceresses were despicable criminals who happened to be women by coincidence. Banning their corrupt arts is enough, it can make sure the same villain can't recruit new people openly.
But no, you just have to keep women weak so you can have a feeling of having the stronger sex. But outside of the pointless misogyny, Rey is right, this is a harmful measure.
You could have competent, kind women help you repel other threats. Women are as many as men, and with your gendered restriction, you cut your forces by half!"
Rey has something to add. "But wait! This measure is even dumber! Due to the women who can use magic understandably feeling oppressed, they might go somewhere where women are encouraged to use magic.
Somewhere like... the lousy Sorceresses!"
Wigg is foaming from the mouth.
"And above all else, what happens if the enemy happens to be male? This measure will not stop him at all! In fact, it will make his job easier if he targets a woman!" Alix yells at him.
"In short" Leah tells him calmly "let women use their abilities, and then we can help you repel the Darkness that might consume your world."
"Never! I will not take the advice of three females! You three will see me as right!" And he attacks with a mind controlling spell.
However, Rey uses the Force and stops it. Leah and Alix, having to deal with the Alpha Orders and Cheysuli magic respectively, have trained to resist, but still are struggling against the spell.
So, Rey has no choice but to use the full extent of her abilities if she needs to save them. In her mind, she blows back the black cloud Wigg has inserted, and sends it to Wigg's head instead.
She invades the mind of the wizard. "I can see everything. The Sorceresses whipping people. You throwing people who disagree with you in animal dung. And above all else, I can see how you see us women as people who don't deserve any power because we can't control it.
You will cease your mind control this instant!"
Wigg stops, allowing Leah and Alix to breathe a sigh of relief.
"You... you have endowed blood. You used magic against me! Die, sorceress!"
The moment they hear the word "sorceress", every wizard aims their wands at Rey.
Leah immediately changes into her wolf form and Alix into her falcon form.
Right after they transform, they dodge a few Magic Bolts and Soul Arrows coming at them.
Then Leah uses her Ten-Sided Strike, taking out ten wizards instantly. Two more wizards cast a massive boulder, but Alix flaps her feathers and sends a powerful gust of wind that sends the boulder back.
The wizards send Magic Missiles and blow the boulder up, but Alix fires a barrage of feathers and takes out them and two more foes.
Wigg and Rey are having a clash of lightning bolts. For a moment, Wigg's is pushed back, so he teleports away and uses healing magic to heal a wizard's wound, which was caused by Leah's sharp teeth, then a shield to block Rey's blaster bolts.
Leah tries to bite another wizard, but she gets wounded when he casts Thorn Armor. At the same time, a wizard raises a barrier and blocks Alix's feathers, then another one hits her with a homing, explosive orb.
Finally, Wigg himself makes a flash of blinding light, forcing Rey to close her eyes. Then he casts glowing blue blades of energy all around the Scavenger.
However, she feels them with the Force and deflects them with a Force Shockwave. Wigg then summons a swarm of ravens to tear Rey apart, but she starts cutting them down with her saber. One still bites her with its beak.
Wigg summons a few more crows, but Alix in human form takes them out with a barrage of thrown knives. Then she lunges as a wolf, but Wigg turns her into a snail.
Then he prepares to stomp her, but Rey uses the Force and breaks the bones of his right leg, making him drop to his knees.
The wizard's staff glows red. "Disin..."
Leah has dashed faster than the human eye can see and smashed his face with her titanium crowbar. Enraged, Wigg uses telekinesis and throws her through a wall.
However, Rey starts Force Choking Wigg.
"You binded children with the threat of death! You shamed women for daring to be born with powers and care about your authority more than saving the day!"
The last two wizards try to stop her.
But Alix turns into a wolf and tears both of them apart.
This allows Rey to choke Wigg to death.
With the wizards down, the three women gather victorious.
"He is gone. Now we have a chance to stop the Legion."
