Five antagonists of my fic Din can beat (and five he can't)
Din, aka The Mandalorian, entered my fic right in the beginning of arc 2 of season 2.
He proved himself to be a formidable foe, one that forced Finn to think carefully. Whom could he beat and who would crush him?
Can: Tih'mur
This guy is a Yuuzhan Vong, and a Commander who engaged Finn in personal combat and gave him trouble. Finn was in a disadvantage, as he couldn't directly affect the alien with the Force and had to keep outsmarting him. Din still fought Finn on equal terms, despite being able to be affected. As he loses nothing against a Yuuzhan Vong, he would win even more easily than Finn did.
Can't: Gildiss
Din did defeat a Krayt Dragon, though he had a little help. This red dragon isn't just big and strong, he can breathe very powerful fire, is smart and has beaten Rey in a duel. Din's only hope is his missiles, but it will take a lot of them to kill the beast.
Can: Stone Heart
Stone Heart is good with magic. He can fire strong beams, though the Beskar might deflect them, cast nightmares and even has a ring that shows your worst fear. And if Din sees Grogu dead, he will probably go into a murderous rage and stab Stone Heart.
Can't: Benjamin
Benjamin is one of the strongest vampires who ever lived and could master all elements. Being a vampire, he is strong enough to hurt even an armored Mandalorian with his fists, plus he will heal from blaster bolts and counter the flamethrower with fire or water. He could even reflect rockets with wind. Finally, vampires are fast enough to need the Force so they can be sensed by humans.
Can: Matt Engarde
Din appears right after Matt is taken care of. While Matt is clever, sneaky and can fight back as the Nickel Samurai, Din is used to people like him: clients of his who have strong bodyguards, are moderately skilled themselves, and plan to betray him with blackmail or otherwise. And compared to these people, even Moff Gideon who has an army and can fight well, Din usually comes on top. Matt is no exception. Especially if he uses Grogu for blackmail, he is fucked.
Can't: Rey Skywalker
While Rey has redeemed herself, she was once an antagonist. So, the truth was blown in massive proportions and she ended up as Din's target. The thing is, Din can fight Finn and Moff Gideon: Rey can fight Kylo and Emperor Palpatine. Her Force abilities are too much for Din.
Can: Jack the Ripper
It's the battle of Badass Normals! No superpowers, just being two very skilled normal humans. One has a blaster, a flamethrower, rockets and more. The other has... knives. Which won't even get through Din's Beskar. Even if it could, Din has a jetpack and Jack has none.
Can't: The One-Horned King
Din is a fearsome threat, and he can use all of his weapons effectively. However, the King is a special enemy, who has an artifact that renders all weapons useless, magical or not, plus their projectiles. The artifact can capture all of Din's gadgets and leave him helpless.
Can: The Minotaur
This bovine beast is physically very strong, has an axe that can cut a lot of things and can create a field of smoke. However, Din has killed beasts even bigger and stronger than the Minotaur, like a colossal Krayt Dragon. And the Minotaur might have smoke, but Din has fire and rockets. He can fly out of range and shoot him until he dies. However, he would have trouble in the Labyrinth.
Can't: Vlad
Vlad is a Vampire Lord, who can act faster than the human eye can see and heal quickly. Even fire won't instantly kill him. But his biggest advantage is Bone Magic. He can break the bones of a person from the inside if they aren't fast enough. And no Beskar can defend from that. Din is in the doghouse.
